It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. 1. What Cookies Are Cookies are small data files that a website or service may place on a browser or device. Similar technologies can include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, SDKs, or server-side identifiers. The current Clarity child-theme public JavaScript does not create browser cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage entries for marketing purposes; however, WordPress, WooCommerce, the Divi parent theme, active plugins, hosting/CDN/security systems, payment services, analytics tools, and embedded third-party content may use cookies or related technologies. 2. Categories We May Use Strictly necessary / security These technologies support core website operation, administrator authentication, security, fraud prevention, form integrity, traffic management, or other functions that cannot reasonably be provided without them. Ecommerce and session If you use donation, cart, checkout, account, or recurring-gift functionality, WooCommerce or related ecommerce services may use session or cart technologies to remember cart contents, checkout state, session identifiers, account state, or transaction-related preferences. Preferences and functionality These technologies may remember settings or choices that improve usability. The current child theme does not require a public preference cookie for its core navigation or motion features, but another configured service may use one. Analytics and performance If analytics or tag-management tools are enabled by the site administrator, they may use cookies or event identifiers to understand page usage, traffic sources, performance, or interactions. The child theme can optionally push privacy-limited interaction events into an existing data layer; it does not itself create a third-party analytics account. Advertising or cross-site technologies The Clarity Project theme does not install advertising technology as part of its default frontend. If advertising, retargeting, social-media tracking, or other cross-site technology is added later, the applicable disclosures, consent controls, and opt-out mechanisms should be updated before or when that technology is enabled. 3. Examples of Technologies You May Encounter Depending on the active WordPress, WooCommerce, hosting, security, and payment configuration, examples may include: WordPress login/session cookies for authenticated administrators or users; WooCommerce cart and session cookies used on donation/cart/checkout flows; security, firewall, load-balancing, CDN, or bot-management cookies provided by the hosting/security stack; payment-provider cookies necessary for fraud prevention or checkout; analytics cookies or identifiers if analytics is enabled; and embedded third-party cookies if a page loads media or services from another provider. The precise cookie names, durations, and providers can change when WordPress, plugins, hosting, payment providers, or integrations are updated. This Cookie Policy applies to the technologies actually enabled on the live site at the time of use. 4. Your Choices You can usually control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent portions of the website, login, cart, checkout, or security features from working correctly. If the site presents a consent or preference interface for optional technologies, use that interface to manage the choices it offers. Browser privacy extensions and device settings may provide additional controls. 5. Global Privacy Control and Similar Signals Where applicable law requires recognition of a legally valid opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control, we will take reasonable steps to honor the signal for processing subject to that requirement. Third-party services must also be configured consistently with applicable obligations. 6. Third-Party Technologies Third-party payment processors, social networks, embedded services, analytics providers, hosting/CDN providers, and other vendors may set or read their own technologies. Their use is governed by their own terms and privacy notices. A link to or integration with a third party does not mean The Clarity Project controls that party's cookie practices. 7. Duration Some cookies exist only for a browser session and are deleted when the session ends. Others can remain for a defined period or until you delete them. Duration is controlled by the service that sets the technology and may change when that service is updated. 8. Changes to This Cookie Policy We may update this Cookie Policy when site functionality, vendors, analytics, ecommerce, security tools, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted here. 9. Contact Questions about cookies or privacy can be directed to . ### Privacy Policy This Privacy Policy explains how (“The Clarity Project,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, protects, and retains information when you visit , submit an interest form or question, participate in our career-transition program, make a donation, or otherwise communicate with us. Plain-language summary. We collect information you choose to provide, limited technical information needed to operate and protect the site, and transaction information needed to process donations. The public theme does not intentionally store full payment-card numbers. Website inquiry forms are sent to the configured Clarity Project recipient by email rather than intentionally being saved by the theme as a public-form database. 1. Scope This Policy applies to information processed through this website and the website functions operated by The Clarity Project. It does not automatically govern third-party websites, payment gateways, social networks, embedded services, or other providers that have their own privacy practices. 2. Information We Collect Information you provide directly Participant interest information: name, email address, optional phone number, and the information you enter in response to “Where are you in your career transition?” Questions and correspondence: name, email address, the question or message you submit, and subsequent communications with our team. Program-related information: information you voluntarily share when discussing participation, coaching, career goals, transition circumstances, or related support needs. Do not submit highly sensitive information unless it is necessary for the interaction. Donation information: donation amount, selected giving frequency when available, and information required by the ecommerce/payment checkout. Depending on the payment method, this may include billing name, email, billing address, transaction identifiers, payment status, and receipt information. Administrative or account information: if WordPress, WooCommerce, a payment provider, or another approved service creates an account or transaction record, information associated with that record may be processed as necessary to provide the service. Information collected automatically When you use the website, our hosting environment, WordPress, security tools, ecommerce tools, and other configured services may automatically process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP, referring URL, pages requested, timestamps, error logs, security events, and similar diagnostic data. Anti-spam and security signals Our public forms use technical safeguards that may process request timing, IP address, browser/user-agent information, security tokens, request origin, and rate-limit information. A hidden “Website” honeypot field is used to detect automated spam. Legitimate visitors do not need to complete that hidden field. 3. How We Use Information We may use information to: respond to interest forms, questions, and requests; evaluate and administer participation in The Clarity Project; communicate about program logistics, coaching, sessions, or support; process donations, issue receipts, administer recurring gifts when available, and maintain transaction records; administer matching-gift calculations and campaign availability; operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website; detect fraud, abuse, spam, unauthorized access, and technical problems; perform internal reporting, analytics, planning, and service improvement where enabled; comply with accounting, tax, legal, regulatory, recordkeeping, and nonprofit governance obligations; protect the rights, safety, property, and integrity of The Clarity Project, participants, donors, visitors, and others; and carry out other purposes disclosed when information is collected or with your consent. 4. Website Forms and Email Delivery The current Clarity Project theme sends public interest-form and question-form submissions to the email address configured by the site administrator. The theme does not intentionally create a separate database table containing those public form submissions. However, copies may exist in recipient mailboxes, outbound-mail infrastructure, server logs, backups, security systems, or third-party email-delivery services used by the website. Do not use the public forms to send passwords, full payment-card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical records, or other information that is not necessary for your request. 5. Donations, Checkout, and Payment Information The donation page collects the amount of a proposed gift and, when enabled, the selected gift frequency before directing the transaction through the website's ecommerce/payment flow. WooCommerce, the configured payment gateway, banks, card networks, wallet providers, and other transaction providers may process information necessary to complete the gift. The theme is designed so payment-card data belongs to the payment gateway, not the theme. We do not intentionally ask you to send full card numbers through the public contact forms, and the theme does not include custom storage for full payment-card credentials. We may retain transaction records such as donor name, contact information, amount, date, status, order/subscription identifiers, and receipt/accounting information as needed for donation administration, legal obligations, fraud prevention, accounting, reconciliation, and recordkeeping. 6. Matching Gifts When a matching-gift opportunity is displayed, the website may calculate the amount eligible for a match based on the current matching pool and completed eligible donations. Matching availability may change as gifts are completed. Any sharing of donor information with a matching partner should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the applicable campaign, accounting, confirmation, or legal obligations and is subject to any campaign-specific disclosures shown at the time. 7. Cookies and Similar Technologies The website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for WordPress administration, security, ecommerce/cart functionality, session continuity, preferences, analytics, or other configured services. The Clarity child theme itself does not create marketing cookies in its public JavaScript. Other active plugins, the WordPress parent theme, hosting/CDN systems, ecommerce services, analytics tools, embedded media, or integrations may set their own cookies. For more detail, see our Cookie Policy. 8. Analytics and Interaction Measurement The theme can optionally push privacy-limited interaction events to an existing website data layer when that feature is enabled. The theme does not itself install a third-party analytics account. If the site administrator enables analytics, tag-management, advertising, or similar services, those services may process device, usage, cookie, or event information according to their configuration and privacy terms. 9. When We Disclose Information We may disclose information in the following circumstances: Service providers. To vendors that help us provide hosting, content delivery, security, email, backups, ecommerce, payment processing, accounting, analytics, forms, or technical operations. Payment and financial providers. To payment gateways, financial institutions, card networks, wallet providers, or related services needed to process a transaction. Professional advisers. To accountants, auditors, attorneys, consultants, insurers, or similar advisers when reasonably necessary. Legal and safety reasons. When we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, regulatory request, fraud prevention, security, protection of rights, or protection of people or property. Organizational transactions. In connection with a merger, restructuring, financing, transfer of assets, or similar organizational event, subject to applicable law. With your direction or consent. When you request, authorize, or reasonably expect a disclosure. We do not represent that donor, participant, or visitor information is sold as a business model. If a future technology or relationship changes the legal characterization of data sharing under applicable privacy law, this Policy and any required opt-out controls should be updated before or when that practice begins. 10. Data Retention We retain information for only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including participant communication, program administration, donation records, accounting, tax and nonprofit records, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, backups, security, and legal compliance. Retention periods can differ by category and system. Form messages may remain in recipient email systems and backups after the immediate request is handled. Donation/order records may need to be kept longer for accounting, tax, reconciliation, audit, or legal purposes. Security logs are generally retained for a shorter operational period unless an incident requires longer preservation. 11. Security We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to reduce unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Current theme safeguards include input sanitization, output escaping, WordPress security nonces, same-origin checks for public forms, honeypot spam detection, submission timing checks, rate limiting, capability checks for administrative actions, and use of established ecommerce/payment systems rather than custom card storage. No website, network, email system, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for using appropriate care when transmitting information online. 12. Children's Privacy The Clarity Project website and career-transition program are directed to adults and are not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13 through the public program forms. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can evaluate and address the request. 13. Privacy Rights Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights concerning your personal information. These may include rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction of certain processing, withdrawal of consent, or information about disclosures. Some jurisdictions also provide rights to opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale, sharing, profiling, or similar uses. To make a privacy request, contact us at . We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. We may deny or limit a request where permitted or required by law, including when information must be retained for legal, security, accounting, or transaction purposes. Appeals and authorized agents Where applicable law provides an appeal process, you may ask us to reconsider a denied privacy request. Where authorized agents are permitted, we may require proof of authority and verification of the individual concerned. 14. Browser Privacy Signals Some browsers provide privacy preference signals such as Global Privacy Control. Where applicable law requires recognition of a legally valid opt-out preference signal, we will take reasonable steps to honor that signal for processing subject to the requirement. The operation of third-party plugins or services must also be configured consistently with those obligations. 15. International Visitors The website may be accessible outside the United States. If you access the site from another country, information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on lawful mechanisms and appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing. For visitors in jurisdictions that require a stated legal basis for processing, the applicable basis may include consent, steps requested before entering a relationship, performance of a relationship, legitimate interests in operating and securing the program and website, and compliance with legal obligations, depending on the context. 16. Email and Communications If you contact us or request information, we may reply using the contact information you provide. Program-operational or donation-related communications may be sent when necessary to administer your request or transaction. If we later send promotional email where consent or an unsubscribe mechanism is required, we will provide the applicable choice. 17. Third-Party Links and Services The website may link to social networks, payment providers, partner sites, embedded content, or other third-party services. We do not control the privacy, security, availability, or content of those independent services. Review their policies before providing information to them. 18. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the website, program, technology, vendors, legal requirements, or data practices. The current version will be posted on this page, and the page's “Last updated” date will change when the policy is materially edited. 19. Contact Us Questions, requests, or concerns about privacy can be directed to . You may also use the site's Start Here form for a general inquiry, but do not submit sensitive credentials or full payment-card information through that form. ### Sample Page This is an example page. It's different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this: Hi there! I'm a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin' caught in the rain.) ...or something like this: The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community. You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit is accurate enough for the purpose for which it is provided and that you have authority to provide it. 2. Program content may include self-reflection, assessments, worksheets, coaching input, facilitated group discussion, career-search strategy, outreach practices, accountability, and related educational material. Career decisions remain your responsibility. Information provided through the site or program is educational and does not replace individualized legal, tax, financial, mental-health, medical, immigration, employment-law, or other licensed professional advice. 3. No Employment or Outcome Guarantee We do not guarantee job offers, interviews, compensation levels, placement, employer response, hiring decisions, promotion, business results, or any specific career outcome. Labor markets, employers, individual circumstances, performance, timing, economic conditions, and many other factors are outside our control. 4. Participant and Visitor Conduct You agree not to: use the site in violation of law or the rights of others; attempt unauthorized access to accounts, servers, administrative tools, or restricted content; interfere with website security, rate limits, anti-spam controls, payment systems, or normal operation; introduce malware, malicious scripts, automated abuse, scraping that materially disrupts the service, or fraudulent transactions; misrepresent your identity or authority; submit confidential information belonging to an employer or another person without authorization; harass, threaten, discriminate against, or unlawfully target participants, coaches, volunteers, staff, donors, or other users; or copy, redistribute, sell, publish, or commercially exploit protected program materials except as expressly allowed. 5. Intellectual Property Unless otherwise stated, the website's branding, design, text, graphics, program frameworks, worksheets, educational material, downloadable resources, and other original content are owned by or licensed to The Clarity Project and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Participants may use program materials for their own personal career-transition work unless a specific resource states different terms. You may not reproduce, sell, publish, sublicense, distribute, create competing commercial materials from, or publicly post substantial portions of protected program content without written permission. 7. Third-Party Content, Tools, and Links The website may reference employers, professional networks, assessment tools, payment providers, social networks, partner organizations, or third-party resources. References are provided for convenience or program use and do not constitute a warranty or endorsement of every third-party statement, practice, product, availability, or outcome. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. 8. Donations and Payments Donations are processed through the ecommerce/payment services configured for the website. You agree to provide accurate transaction information and to use only a payment method you are authorized to use. Payment-card credentials are handled by the applicable payment gateway rather than custom theme storage. Transaction providers may impose their own terms, authentication, fraud screening, currency, fee, refund, dispute, or processing rules. Recurring giving If recurring giving is offered, the checkout will identify the recurring frequency before you authorize it. Recurring charges continue according to the terms presented at checkout until canceled, completed, or otherwise ended through the available provider/account process or applicable support channel. Refund and cancellation requests Donations are intended as voluntary gifts. If you believe a donation was made in error, was unauthorized, or requires cancellation, contact promptly. Any refund, cancellation, chargeback, or recurring-gift adjustment is subject to applicable law, the transaction status, the payment provider's capabilities and rules, and The Clarity Project's accounting obligations. Tax treatment Nothing on the website is tax advice. The tax treatment or deductibility of a contribution depends on the organization's status, the nature of the payment, the donor's circumstances, and applicable law. Consult your own tax adviser when necessary and retain any receipt provided for your records. 9. Matching-Gift Opportunities A displayed matching opportunity is subject to the current matching pool, eligibility terms, timing, completed-payment status, and any campaign-specific conditions. A displayed estimated match is not a guarantee until the applicable transaction and matching conditions are satisfied. Once matching funds are exhausted, later gifts may remain fully accepted without being matched. 10.
