This Cookie Policy explains how The Clarity Project uses cookies and similar technologies on myclarityproject.org. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What Cookies Are

The current Clarity child-theme public JavaScript does not create browser cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage entries for marketing purposes; however, WordPress, WooCommerce, the Divi parent theme, active plugins, hosting/CDN/security systems, payment services, analytics tools, and embedded third-party content may use cookies or related technologies.
2. Categories We May Use
Strictly necessary / security
These technologies support core website operation, administrator authentication, security, fraud prevention, form integrity, traffic management, or other functions that cannot reasonably be provided without them.
Ecommerce and session
If you use donation, cart, checkout, account, or recurring-gift functionality, WooCommerce or related ecommerce services may use session or cart technologies to remember cart contents, checkout state, session identifiers, account state, or transaction-related preferences.
Preferences and functionality
These technologies may remember settings or choices that improve usability. The current child theme does not require a public preference cookie for its core navigation or motion features, but another configured service may use one.
Analytics and performance
If analytics or tag-management tools are enabled by the site administrator, they may use cookies or event identifiers to understand page usage, traffic sources, performance, or interactions. The child theme can optionally push privacy-limited interaction events into an existing data layer; it does not itself create a third-party analytics account.
Advertising or cross-site technologies
The Clarity Project theme does not install advertising technology as part of its default frontend. If advertising, retargeting, social-media tracking, or other cross-site technology is added later, the applicable disclosures, consent controls, and opt-out mechanisms should be updated before or when that technology is enabled.
3. Examples of Technologies You May Encounter
Depending on the active WordPress, WooCommerce, hosting, security, and payment configuration, examples may include:
- WordPress login/session cookies for authenticated administrators or users;
- WooCommerce cart and session cookies used on donation/cart/checkout flows;
- security, firewall, load-balancing, CDN, or bot-management cookies provided by the hosting/security stack;
- payment-provider cookies necessary for fraud prevention or checkout;
- analytics cookies or identifiers if analytics is enabled; and
- embedded third-party cookies if a page loads media or services from another provider.
The precise cookie names, durations, and providers can change when WordPress, plugins, hosting, payment providers, or integrations are updated. This Cookie Policy applies to the technologies actually enabled on the live site at the time of use.
4. Your Choices
You can usually control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent portions of the website, login, cart, checkout, or security features from working correctly.
If the site presents a consent or preference interface for optional technologies, use that interface to manage the choices it offers. Browser privacy extensions and device settings may provide additional controls.
5. Global Privacy Control and Similar Signals
Where applicable law requires recognition of a legally valid opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control, we will take reasonable steps to honor the signal for processing subject to that requirement. Third-party services must also be configured consistently with applicable obligations.
6. Third-Party Technologies
Third-party payment processors, social networks, embedded services, analytics providers, hosting/CDN providers, and other vendors may set or read their own technologies. Their use is governed by their own terms and privacy notices. A link to or integration with a third party does not mean The Clarity Project controls that party’s cookie practices.
7. Duration
Some cookies exist only for a browser session and are deleted when the session ends. Others can remain for a defined period or until you delete them. Duration is controlled by the service that sets the technology and may change when that service is updated.
8. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when site functionality, vendors, analytics, ecommerce, security tools, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted here.
